Stefania Fadda has been the director of CABSS since 2008. She is Psychotherapist and Psychologist specialized in Mental Health and Deafness. She obtained her PHD in Clinical Psychology at Gallaudet University, Washington D.C in the U.S. During her time in the U.S. she also worked as a counselor for deaf children and CODAs (children of deaf adults) 3-5 years of age and adults who are Deaf at Gallaudet’s Mental Health Center. In Italy she worked at “Microcitemico”, a Children’s Hospital in Sardinia as a psychologist and has cooperated with the Psychology Department at the University of Cagliari.
She is member of European Society of Mental Health and Deafness, a member of Deafblind International and collaborates with the Cognitive Psychological Association of Rome. She has spoken and presented at numerous national and international conferences in the area of Psychology and Deafness and Mental Health and Deafness. In 2013, Stefania Fadda won the R.O.S.A. award, Results Obtained Without Help, an award that was given for her professional achievements in favor of deaf and deafblind children. In 2014, she was given the Dea Madre Award, a prestigious recognition from the Region of Sardinia.
